The Highland Games

Some photos from the Scottish Games in Enumclaw on Sunday…

[Child in body armor]

[scattered sandwich boards]

[Caber toss]

When she saw the last photo that John posted here, my friend Fiona said that my American tourist in Edinburgh costume looked very convincing.

  1. We attended the Highland Games in Spokane today. There were no sheepdog trials as there had been in Athena OR last month, but we saw more of the sporting events and Masha got to toss the caber in the kids games. The caber consisted of a five foot section of cardboard tube from carpeting wrapped in duct tape. She also tossed the sheep (stuffed toy sheep) and practiced for the sack race. The sack came about to her nose, so travel was slow.
